A unique reverse-step podium, 8 Phillip Street is located in the heart of Parramatta behind the iconic Church (Eat) Street.
Coronation Property identified an opportunity to increase density on the site three-fold by selecting a partner site and incorporating adaptive re-use of heritage listed buildings which saw unanimous bi-partisan approval from local council. With the site located close to the arts and sports precinct, and the new Powerhouse Museum, Coronation Property have been granted approval to develop the second tallest building in Parramatta comprising of a 55-storey tower which will be home to a 250 room QT Hotel, extensive F&B tenancies and 314 high rise apartments.
Evolving from street to sky, transformative architecture embraces the context of its surrounds, delivering a respectful, adaptive reuse response at an urban scale, designed to emanate upward from the existing church spire, to hover over the pedestrian laneways below.
The design celebrates and honours the rich fabric of the existing St Andrew’s Church Hall heritage elements and will bring a new level of dining and retail to Parramatta, making it a standalone lifestyle precinct.
The 8 Phillip Street vision dramatically extends the ground floor public domain whilst architecturally framing the existing heritage buildings. The result is a world-class precinct that extends vertically, layering local heritage, amenity, hospitality and residences to become an unrivalled destination.
