The idea of the Australian ‘forever home’ is changing, with more buyers looking to apartment living for the long term.
For Romeo and Minh, that meant finding a home that offered more space without the upkeep of a larger house. After outgrowing their previous apartment, the couple chose a three-bedroom apartment with a courtyard at Ashbury Terraces in Sydney’s Inner West.
Without the burden of maintaining a large home, the couple now have more time for fitness, travel and hosting friends.
“When you get to this stage, you don’t want a big house anymore,” Romeo says.
Designed by SJB with landscape architecture by 360 Degrees Landscape Architects, Ashbury Terraces places a strong focus on the connection between home and landscape. The three-bedroom terrace homes feature layered outdoor entertaining areas and private courtyard gardens, extending living spaces across multiple levels to encourage a seamless transition between indoors and out.
For Romeo, apartment living can suit different stages of life, describing it as “a good way to start, and a good way to end” the housing journey.
