Coronation joined government, industry and community leaders at The Daily Telegraph Future Western Sydney Summit 2026 on Friday 1 May, as a major sponsor of the forum.
Held at the newly completed Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, the Summit brought together some of the state and country’s most influential voices to discuss the future of one of Australia’s fastest-growing and most dynamic regions.
The location was significant. In his address, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese described Western Sydney International as the first major airport to open in Australia in more than 50 years, and a catalyst for economic investment across the region. The Prime Minister also pointed to the broader infrastructure investment already reshaping Western Sydney, including the M12, the Sydney Metro, Western Sydney Airport project and planning for future transport connections.
NSW Premier Chris Minns also used the forum to highlight the scale of infrastructure investment underway across Western Sydney, while reinforcing the need for growth to be matched with essential services, transport, schools, hospitals and community infrastructure.
For Coronation, the conversation closely aligns with our long-term commitment to Western Sydney.
The region is central to our story and our pipeline, with completed, operational and future projects that reflect its continued evolution as a place to live, work, visit and invest.
Through Nation, our build-to-rent platform, we now operate two fully leased residential communities in Western Sydney, Nation Parramatta City and Nation Merrylands. These communities have been designed to offer residents quality rental homes with long-term amenity, service and connection built in.
In Parramatta, Coronation is also delivering 8 Phillip Street, which will become Western Sydney’s tallest residential tower and home to the region’s first five-star hotel, delivered in partnership with QT Hotels & Resorts and EVT Group. The project reflects Parramatta’s continued transformation into a civic, cultural and economic centre, bringing together premium residential living, hotel accommodation, dining, events and public-facing amenity in the heart of the city.
Housing was a central theme of the Summit, with The Daily Telegraph Editor Ben English reinforcing the urgency of meeting the needs of Western Sydney’s rapidly growing population.
For Coronation, that urgency goes beyond housing supply alone. It is about delivering well-designed, connected communities that support the way people live, work and move. It is also about recognising Western Sydney not as a future growth story, but as a region where some of Australia’s most important infrastructure, housing and city-shaping projects are already coming to life.
Coronation thanks The Daily Telegraph for continuing to champion Western Sydney and for bringing together government, industry and community voices for such an important discussion.
