Global recognition for multi-residential architecture and urban renewal in Western Sydney.

Mason & Main Stage Two has been awarded Silver in the Architecture – Multi Residence (10+ floors) – Constructed category at the BETTER FUTURE Award Program – World Design Awards 2026, following its earlier recognition at the Australian Design Awards.

Delivered by Coronation Property, the landmark Build-to-Sell development comprises 415 apartments across three residential towers, integrated with resort-style amenities and a vibrant retail and dining precinct known as Eat Street Merrylands. The award acknowledges the project’s architectural ambition, construction excellence and contribution to urban renewal in one of Western Sydney’s fastest-growing corridors.

Designed by global architecture practice Woods Bagot, Mason & Main Stage Two builds on the broader Mason & Main Precinct vision to transform Merrylands into a connected, design-led urban village. Expressive brick façades and distinctive 4.3-metre self-supporting brick arches reference the area’s brickmaking heritage while establishing a bold contemporary identity at scale.

Residents benefit from resort-style facilities including a pool, gym, private dining rooms and rooftop gardens, alongside walkable access to Merrylands Station, Stockland Merrylands Shopping Centre, childcare, and employment-generating retail. Landscaped public and private spaces by 360 Landscape Architecture further strengthen the precinct’s liveability and connection to place.

Joe Nahas, Managing Director of Coronation, said the World-level recognition reflects the organisation’s long-term leadership approach to city-shaping development.

“This award recognises more than architectural execution; it speaks to our responsibility as developers to create places that endure. Mason & Main reflects a design approach that complements the character of Merrylands and responds to how the local community wants to live. Being recognised on the world stage reinforces what’s possible when strong design leadership and a long-term vision come together.”

Stage Two exceeded market expectations, attracting a broad buyer profile from first-home buyers to investors, and demonstrating strong demand for high-quality, well-located housing in Western Sydney.

Apartments were priced from $470,000, reinforcing the project’s ambition to deliver aspirational design without a premium price tag.

Aras Labutis, Head of Urban Transformations at Coronation, said Mason & Main Stage Two demonstrates how integrated design can shape more connected urban environments.

“From the outset, Mason & Main was about rethinking how people experience living at scale in Western Sydney. By embedding heritage expression, lifestyle amenities and an activated public realm, we’ve created a precinct that supports connection, economic activity and a genuine sense of belonging.”

Innovation underpinned the project’s delivery, including modular and prefabricated construction methods that improved quality control, reduced waste and accelerated build time. A complex, staged stormwater culvert diversion addressed flood-prone conditions, ensuring long-term resilience while unlocking the site’s full potential. Passive design strategies, durable materials and integrated stormwater management further strengthened environmental performance.

The category recognises excellence in planning, design and construction, considering form, space, materiality, light and shadow, alongside social and functional outcomes.

Mason & Main Stage Two stands as a blueprint for contemporary urban renewal – blending architectural ambition with affordability, sustainability and community-focused outcomes in Western Sydney.
