Nation launches culture-led program at Precinct 75

MEDIA RELEASE
Sydney 14 November, 2025 – Coronation Property (‘Coronation’), through Nation, its specialist Build-to-Rent operator, has launched a new arts, culture and community program at Precinct 75 in St Peters, delivered in partnership with cultural programming platform Arts-Matter. The initiative honours the precinct’s industrial creative heritage while supporting the next chapter of artistic activity within Sydney’s Inner West.
Long regarded as a cornerstone of Sydney’s creative story, Precinct 75 has evolved from the birthplace of Taubman’s Paint into a thriving community of artists, ceramicists, designers and small creative businesses.
Through Nation Made, an artist-in-residence program, the precinct has provided free studio space to artists, musicians and makers throughout construction. Building on that foundation, Nation Made continues to expand creative collaboration beyond its walls, partnering with Australian artists and designers to celebrate the craftsmanship, storytelling and cultural expression that shape Nation’s communities.
Charlotte Dillon, General Manager at Nation, said, “Each Nation Made collaboration explores the intersection of art, design and community. It’s a way to connect people more deeply to where they live and to the creative energy that makes Australian cities unique.”
Nation Made is a signature initiative of Nation, designed to embed culture early in the development process and foster long-term creative collaboration across its Build-to-Rent communities.
As the site moves into its next chapter, designed by Cox Architecture, it will integrate residential, commercial and retail spaces to create a connected and active community hub. Nation is working early and intentionally to protect and amplify its creative legacy through placemaking and cultural activation.
The masterplan includes a diverse mix of amenities such as restaurants, bars, wellness spaces and significant public-realm upgrades. New pedestrian connections and activated laneways, including Makers Way, will improve access to Edith, Mary and Roberts Streets, while landscaped communal areas will establish a vibrant, walkable heart for the precinct.
“Precinct 75 has always been a place where creativity and craft meet industry,” said Joe Nahas, Managing Director of Coronation. “We’re carrying that spirit forward, creating places where art, design and community can thrive together.”
As a partner, Arts-Matter brings curated programming, cultural insight and access to established and emerging creatives across art, music, fashion, film, dance and literature. Its community-led approach aligns with Coronation’s focus on fostering connection and creating inclusive neighbourhoods.
The event series includes:
Open Studios – A precinct-wide ongoing event inviting resident artists to open their doors to the public, encouraging connection within the broader community.
Sneaker Design Auction – Twenty-five established and emerging artists, including Ken Done, will reimagine donated Dunlop Volley sneakers as one-of-a-kind artworks. The pieces will be auctioned publicly, with proceeds supporting Studio A and its Accessible Inspiration program.
With support from Coronation Cares, Studio A’s Accessible Inspiration program delivers curriculum-aligned workshops in public schools, giving students the chance to learn directly from practicing artists and engage in creative, inclusive learning.
“We believe that creativity is a powerful tool for inclusion,” said Gabrielle Mordy, CEO of Studio A. “Through the Accessible Inspiration program, our artists not only share their talents but reshape perceptions and inspire students who’ve never had the chance to experience something like this. With Coronation’s support, we’re proud to expand the program to reach even more classrooms across Sydney.”
“At a time when artists are being pushed to the edges of our cities, visibility, access to space and opportunities for creative dialogue have never been more important,” said Michelle Grey, Co-Founder of Arts-Matter. “Precinct 75 has become a vital cultural hub – a place where artists, makers and thinkers can connect, experiment and contribute to the creative fabric of Sydney.”
By engaging Arts-Matter early in the precinct’s evolution, Coronation, along with Nation, is putting culture at the foundation of long-term neighbourhood identity. The program aims to build social resilience, expand creative networks and support artists economically through exposure, education and charitable partnerships.
The event series will roll out across the precinct over the coming months at 75 Mary Street, St Peters. Events are free and open to the public, with select sessions offering optional registration.
