8 Phillip Street tops out at 65 storeys, marking a major milestone for Parramatta

MEDIA RELEASE
Parramatta 27 November, 2025 – Coronation Property has marked the topping out of 8 Phillip Street, with the landmark mixed-use tower reaching its full height of 65 storeys and cementing its position as the tallest residential building in Western Sydney.
Designed by Woods Bagot, 8 Phillip Street brings together over 370 premium residences above Parramatta’s first five-star hotel, QT Parramatta, creating a layered vertical precinct that integrates architecture, hospitality and lifestyle in the heart of the city.
The milestone was celebrated on site with project partners and key stakeholders, recognising the scale of the development and its role in Parramatta’s continued evolution.
Business Western Sydney Executive Director David Borger said the project reflects the timing and ambition shaping the city’s next chapter. “When I think about the next milestone in Parramatta’s evolution, projects like this come to mind,” David said. “This residential and hotel development arrives at a remarkable moment for the city, with the five-star QT Parramatta opening alongside major cultural and infrastructure milestones, including the new airport and the Powerhouse Museum. Together, these projects signal a new chapter for Parramatta and Western Sydney.”
Coronation Property Head of Urban Transformation Aras Labutis said the project represents a long-term legacy for both the business and the city. “This is a legacy project for Coronation. It’s been designed to stand the test of time, with Woods Bagot, Dom and the broader team delivering an exceptional outcome,” Aras said. “This will be a defining landmark, one that will truly stand out on the Western Sydney skyline.”
Woods Bagot Director Dom Alvaro said the project demonstrates the role of vertical urbanism in shaping more sustainable cities. “This project represents vertical urbanism at its best. By building upwards rather than outwards, we’re supporting more efficient use of infrastructure, helping preserve green space and enabling more energy-efficient, environmentally responsible urban living,” Dom said. “We’re proud to have reached this milestone alongside Coronation and the broader consultant team.”
EVT Limited Director of Hotels and Resorts Norman Arundel said QT Parramatta will play a defining role in Sydney’s hospitality landscape. “We’re very confident this will become one of Sydney’s iconic destinations, not just for Western Sydney, but for the city as a whole,” Norman said.
Designed to evolve from street to sky, the tower forms a distinctive architectural presence while delivering highly curated residential amenity, including configurable outdoor living spaces designed to support wellbeing, connection and everyday life.
Construction is progressing strongly, with the project on track for completion in late 2026.
8 Phillip Street forms part of Coronation Property’s long-standing commitment to Parramatta and Western Sydney, delivering design-led developments that elevate how people live, stay and experience urban environments.
