Mona Chao, Coronation Property’s Head of Design, proudly contributed to a Designing for Affordability panel discussion at the Urban Taskforce Australia Conference on Friday.
The NSW Treasurer, Hon Daniel Mookhey MLC addressed over 200 property professionals assembled at Sydney’s Amora Jamieson Hotel, outlining his proposal to seek support from his state and territory counterparts to bring forward federal spending by increasing the Housing Support Program – a competitive fund for essential services or amenities to kickstart new housing supply – from $500 million to $3 billion.
Mona joined fellow design experts including NSW Government Architect Abbie Galvin, Karl May, Simon Parsons in a thought-provoking discussion moderated by Sydney Morning Herald property journalist, Michael Koziol on the metrics and principles employed by architects to reduce development and construction costs in multi-storey residential projects, whilst upholding quality and compliance standards.
As a fully integrated property group, Coronation employs these principals in its ongoing commitment to deliver much needed homes to Sydneysiders who are feeling disheartened in the face of the widely publicised critical lack of rental properties, and apartments that are affordable.
Coronation has responded by establishing its stand-alone, build-to-rent subsidiary company Nation that will operate several vibrant residential communities across Sydney. Strategically situated near to transportation, health and education hubs, and lifestyle amenity, Nation’s Harris Park, Merrylands, and Erskineville locations will provide its members with a new style of rental experience that is both flexible and secure and will include a selection of quality apartments dedicated to essential workers.
