As one of Sydney’s fastest growing areas, it’s no surprise that the Greater Cities Commission released ‘The Greater Sydney Region Plan – A Metropolis of Three Cities’, which looks to meet the needs of the growing and changing population.
The vision seeks to transform Greater Sydney into a metropolis of three cities - the Western Parkland City, the Central River City, and the Eastern Harbour City.
Greater Parramatta - the metropolitan centre - is the core of the Central River City and is expected to grow substantially from 1.3 million people to 1.7 million people over the next 20 years, capitalising on its location close to the geographic centre of Greater Sydney.
The plan outlines unprecedented investment in new transport and other infrastructure, including the Parramatta Light Rail and the Sydney Metro West rail link, which will significantly improve connectivity.
The plan is also structured around strategies for liveability and productivity, and will transform many parts of the city from a suburban to an urban environment.
The Central River City will benefit greatly with a more attractive, sustainable, and enjoyable living environment for residents - a massive win for 8 Phillip Street and the greater Parramatta region.
