Coronation Property, the company behind The Paper Mill project off the banks of the Georges River, has commissioned Lehours to create a mural to wrap around the development during its construction.
Work began on Friday and is expected to finished in about a month. This mural will consist of a number of images which tell the Liverpool’s history and it’s people.
A picture of a young Arabic woman which signifies Liverpool’s diverse culture, an image of James Henry Atkinson who was instrumental in establishing the original Paper Mill and a number of horses to represent the city’s strong ties to the military and Light Horse Brigade are just some of the ideas that have been incorporated.
“There is different type and font work throughout the whole piece to contrast the imagery used,” Lehours said.
“The main one is a geometric pattern that symbolises the saw tooth design of the exterior roofing of the original building.”
